Dear XLI Club member,
As I write this message, Easter and the end of daylight savings have passed reminding us that we need to make the most of the remaining beautiful autumn days.
Firstly, an update on our March luncheon which was held at the Police Association premises. For various reasons it was a smaller gathering than usual but no less enjoyable. Gareth Hanlon did a great job as stand in MC for Ian Coutts who had other unavoidable commitments on that day. A big thank you to Gareth for stepping up to the mike.
| We were delighted to have Debra Richardson, CEO Police Veterans Victoria (PVV), as our guest speaker. In addition to giving us an update on the great work currently being undertaken by PVV, Debra generously shared with us some details of her personal and professional life leading to her role at PVV. It was a very interesting and compassionate presentation. | ![]() |
At the conclusion of Debra’s presentation, we presented PVV with a $2000 donation which will be directed to their Hardship Fund to assist in helping veterans who are doing it tough.

| On a Club administrative matter, I am pleased to advise we have received a new order of XLI Club ties, and for the first time, we now have complimentary scarves for the ladies. New members will continue to receive a Club tie or scarf, and the ties and scarves will also be available for members to purchase.
Ties are $35.00 and the scarves $25.00. Please ask at the registration desk if you are interested in purchasing a scarf or tie. Members are reminded that they are expected to wear their Club ties to Club lunches. | ![]() |
Currently, I am also in the middle of collating names for the tables for our ANZAC Lunch, so by the time you get this message, you may have just enjoyed, or are about to just enjoy, our April ANZAC Lunch. This lunch will be well attended and is shaping up to be another great day to be shared with members and guests. I look forward to seeing everyone then.

Before signing off I’d just like to remind members if you could please rsvp to future lunches using the club email address [email protected]. A central point for the receipt of RSVPs will assist in the co-ordination of events.
Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the 16th of April. Meanwhile take care and I hope your footy team wins.
Barbara Poland
